Hey, this is Jon from Team R. We've started the coding process and we completed 90% of a class that defines all the Food Objects. We haven't properly gotten the sprite images individually "boxed" from your image files, however we have decided on the food items we want to use.
We plan to use a 2 dimensional 5x5 array to designate positions on the screen. We are planning to use a point and click approach to selecting food on the screen rather than a mouse click and drag. For now, we are simplifying the pig to just be a sprite that follows the time bar and gives positive reactions to making good choices in food selection. We are going to create another class just for the blood sugar meter and we are currently leaving the point system on hold until we can test some things. We haven't decided upon menu designs yet.
We do have some some requests pertaining to additional art images. Since our progress isn't too far, I will only tell requests for the most immediate needs that we have just in case we decide to change our ideas about what kind of images we may want.
For now, we request a greater variety of "good/healthy" food images. For example, we'd like brocolli, a tomatoe, an apple, cabbage. Things like that. A particular image we are planning on using is the lemon, but it is not immediately discernable as a lemon. It may be mistaken for candy so we'd like more options to choose from. It would be much appreciated if you could fulfill this request. Thanks.

We had a request for more good/healthy food from another group as well, so we should be able to handle some more food sprites. I think Jared and I are both pretty stacked, so we probably won't be able to get to anything until the end of the week.
ReplyDeleteHey, Team L is about 70% done with a generic level. At this point what we need most is the food objects, cut up into individual squares and labeled things like "lemon" and "donut" and we would need their dimensions in pixels. We would also like to request a Mango as a food.
ReplyDeleteAs for other graphical assets, we would appreciate some small boxes. We are going to have a "score" and a "goal" box in the upper left and right corners. We would also like a longer sugar meter. Some where around 11-15 ticks would be nice. Lastly, and this is a bit silly, we need a transparent box, exactly the size of the the food images. Other then those, we are all good for right now. Thank you!
We have another request pertaining to the scrolling screen at the top for the pig to run with. If you can, we'd like it if you could create a really wide background image which would be at the top part of the screen. This background would scroll along and act as the timer while the pig is "running." This image is different from the background image for the rest of the screen. The specification for this image would need to be: height 225 pixels, length: at least 975 pixels. This is because our normal screen height and length is 325x325 and we'd want the scrolling background to be at least 3 times as long so we can have the image scroll across at a reasonable pace.
